Making money from information marketing requires strategies.
This article is about how to make more money from information marketing using the principle of product templates.
I hope you will learn one thing here for your online business.
Have you ever noticed how many different versions of
Monopoly are available at your local Wal-Mart, toy store
or hobby shop?
I mean, there are dozens of versions -
* Nascar Monopoly
* Spongebob Monopoly
* Elvis Monopoloy
* National Parks Monopoly
* Dallas Cowboys Monopoly
* Friends Monopology
* Lord Of The Rings Monopoly
The list could go on and on.
Have you ever noticed how many different kinds of NIV
Bibles are available at your local Wal-Mart, bookstore or
Christian store?
I mean, again, there are dozens of versions -
* NIV Couple's Devotional
* NIV Men's Devotional
* NIV Women's Devotional
* NIV Children's Devotional
* NIV Policeman's Bible
* NIV Fireman's Bible
* NIV Soldier's Bible
You get the idea.
As I thought about this several years ago, it dawned on
me how incredible this marketing technique really was.
Consider these things -
1. I own numerous copies of the NIV Bible (and it's not
even my preferred version!). SEVERAL copies. Why?
Because of the content in each of them that is shared
in ADDITION to the Scripture itself.
2. I own many copies of Song musicals. Why?
Because I love the songs and I like miming them when I hear
the songs on radio and TV!
I call these types of offerings, "template products".
And they are the easiest way to grow your information business.
Now, I know what you're thinking ... what the heck is a "template"
product? Well, that's a term that I coined to describe
something that I recognized was happening in offline publishing
that we found could easily be applied to niche marketing on the
Internet.
Definition: "Template" Product
A "template" product is the result of taking "base"
content and then custom tailoring it for a specific niche.
A formula might be...
General topical information
+ Niche-specific references and resources
= Template product
Again, let's look at an example to illustrate the concept.
One of the products that I have developed is "Study Abroad Free"
It's a product in an eBook form that reveals all about Tuition Free
Education Abroad-Universities,programmes[undergraduate, postgraduate,PhD],Application
process,contacts, websites, accommodation, etc.
I hope you caught what I said there.
It's a product about Study Abroad Free.
That word "Study Abroad" should trigger a light bulb.
This is a perfect model for creating a "template" product.
EXAMPLE: I took the base product of "Study Abroad Free"
and developed other products.
I added the content to my base product and got the following:
Study Abroad Free in USA
Study Abroad Free in Sweden
Study Abroad Free in Norway
Study Abroad Free in Finland
Study Abroad Free in Germany
Study Abroad Free in Denmark
You can get any of the eBooks by sending a mail to
studyabroadfree@aol.com or studyabroadfunding@gmail.com
You too can do so.
Now let's say your base product is "How to Start a Retail Business"
You add that content to your base product and what do you have...
* How to Start a Daycare
* How to Start a Used Bookstore
* How to Start a Consignment Shop
* How to Start a Flea Market
* How to Start a Collectibles Store
* How to Start a Bakery
* How to Start a Catering Service
* How to Start a Laundromat
* How to Start a Furniture Store
* How to Start a Video Rental Business
* How to Start a Gourmet Coffee Shop
* How to Start a Hair Salon
You could create hundreds of different startup guides from your
base product. Literally, hundreds of different startup guides.
These are template products.
The base product doesn't change from niche version to niche
version.
It is enhanced, expanded and elaborated upon with information
that is applicable to a specific niche.
Now, what happens? There may be dozens of competitors for your
"How to Start a Retail Business" course, but how many are
competing for "How to Start a Bakery"?
And, if a browser goes to Google to look for information on
starting a retail business, how much more likely are they to click
on your Google Adword® if it advertises something for the specific
type of business they are wanting to start as opposed to another
ad that is generalized?
There are numerous types of template products you may want to
consider custom-tailoring for various subniches.
And, don't forget to look for smaller groups within your target
audience to create template products for.
You may have "Time Management for Overly Busy People" as a base
product.
With a few extra pages of custom-tailored information, you could
easily crank out template products like...
* Time Management for Supervisors
* Time Management for the Self-Employed
* Time Management for Busy Moms
* Time Management for Working Moms
* Time Management for College Students
* Time Management for Healthcare Workers
So, that's the concept here.
See you at the Top!
